Beautiful; Inside and Out

One of the biggest goals of the Petals with a Purpose project is to focus on the beauty, both internal and external beauty.  Our Wednesday gatherings to make gorgeous floral arrangements are very happy times-it is hard not to be happy when surrounded by so many fragrant and colorful flowers! Each week is different, but we try to maintain the same atmosphere; one of acceptance and happiness.  Our volunteers encourage participants to give back by decorating the vases and filling them with flowers for those who are less fortunate to enjoy.  We aim to get everyone feeling like they can make a difference, that they are capable of changing peoples’ lives, no matter any limitations they may have.  This particular set of pictures was from a particularly amazing week, when we had more flowers than we knew what to do with, we certainly had more flowers than vases that particular day.  That Wednesday, the attendees were allowed to arrange a small bouquet of flowers to take home, and the responses were in their own way beautiful; most everyone decided to give their bouquets to their moms, one more way to make someone smile!

Saif is such a huge help when it comes to helping the volunteers prepare the flowers for placement in the vases.

It is amazing that these flowers were nearly discarded, now look at them!
